The Mom who cried wolf

Also titled as the Mommy who cried go home.

I'm so sorry, after a series of talks and thoughts, we have decided not to go home anymore.

Who can blame me? I got to excited and I haven't seen my homecity for one and a half years, also, I would also want Yael to see where his nice Mommy grew up ... someday my Baby...

We thought before that it is much fun to give Yael a 1st-year Jollibee birthday party. However, we have decided that it's more practical and economical to celebrate Yael's birthday here in SG.

To Yael's avid fans, sorry to disappoint you, hehehe...

Dearest Preggy Girlfriends

Sorry for flooding your inbox with my post again, I have lots of stories to tell kasi and I am practicing my English, hehehe. ..

I just miss my girl friends from work, especially now that Yael will have new two playmates coming, and we are so happy. Finally, I will have an official "berks" to share Mommy stories with.

Having a baby should be one of the seven wonders of the world. But, I don't want to be a hypocrite and say only the good things. I went through that tupsy-turvy journey of pregnancy and motherhood. I must admit that at first I wasn't that thrilled when I first knew i was pregnant, I was only a few terms away from my MBA. But, motherhood got the best of me and so I gave up my studies. I wasn't always in my best mood either, I am just blessed to have a patient , understanding and loving hubby beside me, uy si Daddy touched. Ricky could attest to my madness during my pregnancy, I had mood swings, I get sensitive, I don't like my stretch marks, i felt tired all the time, I couldn't fit into my fave pair of jeans and shirt, I don't have enough preggy clothes, I could not wear high-heeled shoes...

However, along with that came also excitement, stronger faith, trust and love, love for my dear supportive hubby and acceptance for the wonderful gift of being an instrument of creation. Then there's the anticipation for the big day and shoping for babies things. I went through 18 hours of labor, it was painful of course, but you wouldn't be full-fledged mother if you never went thru that. Be strong gurls, have faith, pray, and share the moment with your man.

Now that I am looking at Yael, it was difinitely all worth it, the emotional, physical, and spiritual challenges of being a woman. I wouldn't exchange him for anything else, not even for a girl. I just love him the way he is!

For future Dads as well, love the mother of your child, without conditions, without buts...

xoxo,

Rosie

Congrats Engr. Delfin

Before I officially said goodbye to previous job, I had been given an opportunity to know the new Engineer who will continue the legacy I have imprinted in my previous company, naks. hehehe. His name is Mark and he reminded me so much of myself five years ago, so innocent, so scared if he will be able to live up to our Boss' expectation and so nice to everybody, and wala pang sungay hehehe. Though he would not want me to iterate his accomplishments but he is a smart guy. He graduated from Mapua a cum luade, he was a dean's list, he was a scholar of our company and he teach in Mapua also as part-time.
He's the guy in white shirt.

He was juggling his job, review for the board exam and at the same time inspire his students. He is funny too and nice because he always have chocolate and goodies to offer everybody, nyahaha, mahilig kasi siyang kumain. hehehe ...

Anyway, he's an official engineer today and I would like to congratulate him. I hope Yael would also grow to be like him, nice and smart and good-looking naks... Keep your feet always planted on the ground, keep the faith!

Mark Wahlberg likes Pacquiao

I couldn't find a better picture of Mark Wahlberg and Manny Pacquiao, but this one is nice though. See Mark's shirt, it has Manny's Initials and there's the sun of the Philippine flag.

I have watched from the news the other night that Mark Wahlberg is an avid fan of Manny, and it just made me proud once again of being a Filipino. What is even remarkable is that Mark said that Manny is a family man and a devote Catholic.

See Mr Tsao, whatever your name is, we're not just a nation of servants!!! We are hailed even by hollywood... maybe i went too far... nyahahaha...

Let's pray for Manny's victory ...

Horoscope for Mom, Dad and Yael

Endless Curiosity(Mom & Yael Compatibility)

Aquarius

Gemini
Your Gemini child has inherited your endless curiosity about the world and your love of being caught up in a crowd. But while you enjoy thinking deeply about your many theories, your little Gemini is a bit more of a "student of all, master of none." This bright, inquisitive child has diverse interests, and focusing on just one isn't her strong point.

She's witty and charming, too, and has lots of friends and admirers, even as a young child. You're a good parent to this little one because you're able to give her the freedom she needs to explore. In fact, you'll fairly push her out into the world -- you have your own projects to pursue, after all! Your little Gemini appreciates your hands-off parenting style, in part because she knows that although you may not be overtly affectionate, you're quite devoted to her in your own way.

About the Aquarius Parent

The Importance of Being Unique

As an Aquarius parent, you encourage your children's freedom and independence. You might have a zany or unconventional home life. At the very least, your family home is likely to be filled with your children's original works of art, projects-in-progress, and other objects of interest.

Since you're into pushing the boundaries of what's considered normal, you won't mind when your kids dye their hair green( I would mind though) or try out an interesting new clothing style. To you, these forms of exploration and unique self-expression are what being young is all about! But you also have enough loyalty and stability to provide a strong foundation for your family.

You simply aren't bound by traditional familial or gender roles, and you're happy with your freedom. You've always cultivated a wide variety of friends and acquaintances, and you'll teach your children to be open-minded and curious about people from all walks of life. You'll also foster their ability to think progressively and come up with creative solutions to their problems. You'll serve as a model for looking toward the future rather than getting stuck in the present or the past.

Your main trial as a parent may be learning to open up to your children emotionally.(not true, I am an emotionally, mushy, cheesy Mommy) You tend to be more comfortable with intellectual thought than with feelings, so you'll have to work on being tender and nurturing with your kids and resisting the urge to withdraw from them when they're needy or upset.

About the Gemini Child

A Quick and Agile Mind

Your Gemini child will look up at you with bright, merry eyes, making you laugh as he makes it clear there's a lot going on in that head of his. And if he starts talking at an early age, he's just living up to his nature!

Gemini children tend to be communicative, charming, and social, but even if your Gemini child is a quieter sort, he's still quick-witted, curious, and mentally engaged with the world around him(so true, Yael could be surrounded by stones and sand sand still have a good time). Make sure he's always surrounded with books and puzzles to stimulate his mind, and give him plenty of space and supplies for his many projects.

Gemini children love anything new, and they tend to bounce from one activity to the next at a moment's notice(so true). As soon as they master a new challenge, they'll grow bored with it and move on. Their mood may also change in the blink of an eye.

Many Gemini children are indecisive or change their minds often. The other side of this coin is their adaptability. Gemini children often prefer variety of experience over depth of understanding, but as their parent, you can help them focus and develop a particular area of strength.

Your Gemini will excel at cerebral endeavors like reading(just like Mommy), writing,(this too) and debate,(not so like Mom, yesterday my Mother-in-law was saying to Yael if he wanted to be a lawyer but I said most lawyers are liars) as well as anything requiring dexterity, such as playing the piano. Due to their variety of interests, Gemini children tend to have many friends and will often be the center of the circle, naturally excelling at what we grown-ups call networking.

Freedom in Commitment(Mom & Dad Compatibility)

Aquarius

Sagittarius
You both have a core need for personal freedom. How will you incorporate this into the constraints of parenting so that everyone in your family gets their needs met? This will be one of your biggest challenges as parents. You'll have to be attentive to each other's moods, and arrange it so that each of you can have individual activities and time apart. Switch roles occasionally.

The Sagittarius mom or dad is quite adventurous(true, Daddy like to travel and wouldn't be caught in one corner reading a book), and you'll have your best family times if you bring the kids along. They appreciate your youthful spirit and good humor, which can be the best medicine when problems arise.

The Aquarius parent may have some unusual or progressive ideas when it comes to childrearing, education, and other aspects of parenting. This is an aspect of your forward-thinking personality. Just make sure your concepts work in real life.

From here.

If you're happy and you know it...

Clap your hands.....

Yehey!!! Yael knows how to clap his hands, gesture bye-bye and is consistent in his close-open... but he only do these with his left hand.... hehehe

Mom and Dad is just so proud...

I don't have a video of him doing all that because he grabs the camera when I start capturing his milestones...

Hay, my baby is growing so fast....

I am beginning to hate Blair, boyfriend stealer....

But, I love how she and Nate kissed in the end ... I'm a hopeless romantic .. It was like a perfect first kiss...

Dorota said, "He asked me where your favorite spot is ...." and then, there was Blair's knight in shining armor, still handsome beyond compare... my heart just melted... but it's grieving for Vanessa ....

Condolence to a Good Friend

Our condolences goes out to my friend Magic, who lost his mother last Saturday.

The cause of death is still unknown, her mother's death came as a shock. She just vomited and pooped blood. It made me think that death can sweep us off our feet at an instant, and then we will be robbed off of goodbyes and this pretty life. It shudders me to think too of robbing my son with a mother most importantly ... But if God wills it, then who we are to question Him?

My friend is in deep sorrow right now, and we pray for him and his family.

I Hate and Love Cebupacific

I love how they slash their prices so every Juan can fly ... however ....

Cebupacific website is killing me ....

If there would be a contest for the slowest website ever... they will win hands-down.

Btw, if you see a cebupacific promo and you have the spare cash for traveling, grab it right away, because they lie, sorry for being harsh, but they do, they said they have this "No fuel surcharge promo"., selling period is May 25-31, and Travel period is June 1 - December 31, 2009, well the June tickets are not in promo anymore ... but the July ones are ... but three days ago, the price is still in promo ... grrrr !!! Where's the justice in that???

i love you, you love me...

Sorry for flooding your inbox with my posts, Yael is in deep so slumber, so that gives Mommy lots of time to make Yael a star in her cyber space.

Yael would usually take a nap from 7pm tp 8pm. Some days, this would give us ample time to have a decent dinner but of course, most of the time we wait for him. Yesterday, I couldn't find a pillow in sight to guard him from diving from the bed AGAIN so cookie monster came handy. I placed the stuffed toy beside him and when I checked up on him, he was already hugging his toy.

Isn't that a cute pic ??? Nyahahaha, vain Mommy!!! But I removed the toy from him after the stolen shot because he might inhale the fiber of cookie monster.

Happy Birthday Lola

Grandmama,

It's your birthday today, let's conceal your age so you will be forever young. Happy birthday Lolang Bisaya / Grandmama / Lola Bait.

Mommy said you are a strong woman daw. Sometimes she can't imagine if she will handle all the hardships you went through raising my Mom and my Tito if she wes in you shoe. Mommy said she is sorry if she was not that obedient to you while she was growing up. She said she is sorry if she would rather stay at her Aunt's house and play with her cousins than help you with household chores. Now, that she is a mother herself, she understood you better and felt sorry for how she behaved before and she has been crossing her fingers that I won't do the same to her hehehe. But Mommy said she made you proud naman daw in some ways. You are the star at this moment so let us not put Mommy into the spotlight. But, in her own little ways, she already did her part to show you how much you mean to her.

Mommy told me that she was reluctant before to ask you to come over and take care of me because it would mean, you will miss your siblings, and your family back home. Also, you will probably get back aches too because I weigh 10kilos already. But yesterday, Mommy talked to you and asked you if you want to come over, you said, "Alangan pabayaan ko na si Yael, mawork ka man ayhan." Mommy was relieved after hearing that.

i can't wait for you to come over. Finally, we can make pasyal during weekdays kasi Mommy and I went to a mall only once without my Dad. mommy can also have her quiet tea time while reading the news and you can take care of me. Lola, walang Jimm's coffee dito ha, Belo Essentials and gugo shampoo kaya be contented na lang of Nescafe, Johnson's baby bath soap and Mommy's shampoo. Mommy said please don't love me too much she might get jealous and deport you back to Pinas daw, hehehe.

I feel sad too because with you coming over, my Mom will have the time to hunt jobs and haunt employers. That would mean, Mommy will seldom feed me, give me a bath and wash my soiled butt. Mommy cannot sleep without me by her side so that could probably mean we won't sleep together during night time. mom is adamant that you shouldn't spoil me. But, I look forward for us to be together again and for my Mom to have a helping hand. Who knows maybe my Mommy won't last a day at work because she will miss me so much, then everybody will be happy.

As for your wages, lots of kisses, smiles, funny moments and happiness or maybe a pair of shoes and money in between.

I pray for your health and happiness Lola dearest.

Sorry this took a day to compose because I kept on interrupting my Mommy, she is also cooking and she is applying for a job while I am sleeping.

Loving you so dearly,
Yael

It pays to ask

Being a parent, one needs to learn the value of money. So there we were, strolling along with Yael, and haunting for the cheapest Playskool walker.

We are not the type of people who buy something on the dot, so we canvass first, we see to it that we have spare money for the wants or we wait for payday. Aka... Kuripot. hehehe.

On a different note, Yael already has this walker, it's a hand-me-down which we bought from the previous tenant here who migrated to Australia. However, Yael's been having scratches on his legs whenever he uses that because his lower leg, just above his ankles, were touching the hard base of the walker everytime he walks. Also I was told that walker such as below is not that good as aid for babies who are learning to walk because they don't know see the way and they rely on it too much for support.

Anyway, back to the topic, so there we were in Isetan which I thought carries the best price. We went to one of their branches a week ago and I am sure the price is $39. But the branch we went to yesterday, have a price of $49.90. I feel a a bit sad because even Toys 'R Us and Takashimaya share the same price, I was thinking that all stores in the Orchard area carry the same price because it's a posh aree in Singapore, wherein all foreigners are staying in hotels. There I was, in my kuripot instinct, I approach the saleslady and I asked her for the real price, explaining that in other branch, it's only $39. She took the walker and approach the cashier for the price, then she came back and lo and behold, it's really 20%, so it' only $39!!!, We saved $10, that's P310!!!

It's the second toy we ever bought Yael, besides his books anyway. He has lots of gifts kasi from friends and we are lucky to be blessed with secondhand toys. hehehe
